We are committed to making this website accessible to as many people as possible, including those who are neurodivergent, have a physical or motor disability, are blind or partially sighted, or are deaf or hard of hearing.
This site is run by Royal Holloway, University of London, and we aim to meet the accessibility requirements set out in the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.
This site is fully compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1/2.2 AA standard.
How we have made this site accessible
- Screen reader compatibility. The site has been tested using screen reader software to ensure content is navigable and understandable using assistive technology.
- High contrast mode. A high contrast display option is available across the site for users with low vision or light sensitivity.
- Audio versions of content. All resource pages include an audio version of their written content, so information can be accessed by listening as well as reading.
- Image descriptions. All images across the site include descriptive alt-text for users relying on screen readers or other assistive technology.
Content we cannot fully control
Some of our educational resources include videos embedded from YouTube. These videos are hosted and played through YouTube’s own platform, and while YouTube provides accessibility features (such as auto-generated or uploaded captions), we cannot guarantee that all embedded video content meets the same accessibility standard as the rest of this site. Every video resource page includes a transcript.
